Preparing to book your senior session
Selecting a senior photographer can be intimidating. For many, this is the first time that a family invests in professional photography. Social media creates an added layer of pressure to get things right, but how do you know who the right person is for your photos? Start with their portfolio. Does their work match your vision? If so, reach out to learn more about their process. Here is some information about my process below to help you feel confident in your decision to book!

Step 1: Inquire
So you’ve decided to learn a little bit more about my photography packages! It is so exciting to be thinking ahead to your senior year and this is one of the first big steps that seniors take to kick of their final year of high school. I promise, I’m just as excited about your senior session as you are (maybe more for some of you!) which means that I respond as soon as I see your inquiry, usually within 48 hours.
Step 2: Pricing info and sample galleries shared
That initial response includes a Senior Pricing Guide that outlines my packages that are offered for seniors. I also share sample galleries to give you a feel for what to expect from me as well as inspiration for your own session! As a note, packages for the class of 2026 start at $450!
Step 3: Booking
If you think we’re a good match, you let me know, and you pick a session time and date on my calendar.
Step 4: Confirmation and Reservation
Once I confirm that your date is good to go, we will make it official with your reservation. Your parent signs the contract (unless you’re already 18), and the deposit is paid (50%).
Step 5: Session Guide Sent
After you’re officially booked, you get a session guide to help answer some common questions that I hear from clients.
Step 6: Location Selection
Some clients have a location in mind right away. If we haven’t selected one by this point in the process, we will do it within 2 weeks before your session. It’s okay if you don’t have any ideas to start, I have lots of ideas and can make suggestions. In the summer, it can be good to wait until we know what things will be blooming at the time of your session, too!

Step 7: Final Payment Due
In the final week before your session, all final payments are due.
Step 8: Your Session is here!
We will chat about you, your future plans, and explore local settings for your session. If we are expecting bad weather, I’ll watch closely and let you know if we need to think about rescheduling. Take a look at my blog post about when we typically reschedule sessions.
Step 9: Sneak peek
I send a handful of photos within 48 hours in a text message. These are always standout moments from your session!
Step 10: Final Gallery
I will send you an online gallery, delivered in 4-8 weeks. Each gallery includes retouching on all images delivered.
Bonus
Step 11.1: Support for sending photos to the Yearbook
As a yearbook advisor, I know what works well in a yearbook and how to submit photos properly to ensure your images look as great in the book as they do in your final gallery. If you need help submitting or selecting a photo, I’m happy to help!
Step 11.2: Mini Cap and Gown Session
If you worked with me for your photos sometime in the summer or fall, I will open up Senior Cap and Gown Mini Sessions for you at a discounted rate at a local university or your high school.
