I’ve been behind a camera for as long as I can remember. My first official session was in high school, photographing a friend’s family portraits. Looking back, it was the cringeiest session I’ve had. But my friend and her family still talk about how much they love the photos from that session. And that is why I continue, year after year, to do this work.
I’ve always had a desire for adventure and travel and that comes through in the sessions that I work on planning with my clients. From glacial Alaska to the Appalachian Mountains, I’ve been along for some pretty neat adventures as a photographer over the years. My husband, Justin, and I are always planning the next adventure to a national park or a backpacking trip somewhere in the world. Who knows, maybe you’ll want a session at our next destination!
You know how important photos are. I get it. I've spent countless vacations and events so wrapped up in getting the perfect photos to help me remember things that I forget to actually take it in. That's where I come in. My love for photography and perfectionism ensures that your story will be told through photos.
Most of my clients start with me as engaged couples. One of the best parts of this job is when I get to watch those couples that met me when they were engaged reach out as their families continue to grow. I can be there for your family as you welcome each new member (pets included!) all the way until their senior year.
If you're anything like me, you can't resist a good hike to a beautiful location on the North Shore of Minnesota, in a beautiful state park, or at a hard-to-reach location. These sessions might include a long drive, a little hike, and no shortage of that adventurous spirit to capture some great photos. Throughout the session, I will work with you to capture great images, stay on the trail and respect the landscape we're there to appreciate.
